Miss Munaza Yaqoob remunerated her thanks for the Participants and said class-oriented trade unions movement and always ready to struggle against the dual exploitation of the working women and the anti-labor reforms that add further burden to them and for the satisfaction of the contemporary needs of the working women have always been a priority for her and her concerns are always with them. There is a need to provide them  full employment, well-paid jobs with quality and full respect for labor rights and equitable access to education, the development of upgrading and professional training for working women’s. Munazza Yaaqoob gave a brief but comprehensive introduction about the history of Feminist movements in the world, feminism in Pakistan and the current perspectives. Dr. Zaitoon Begum began by discussing the Islamic perspective of feminism, stating that “Islam is a most feminist religion”, she believed “…this is what is being practiced in the name of Islam but it has no traces in Islamic history and injunctions”. Dr. Riffat Haque talked about women’s movements being indigenous to every country and there being no “fit-all” model, Pakistani feminists should define a feminism that is indigenous to their cultures. Dr. Saiyma Aslam pointed that Feminists should avoid making their movement Fundamentalist by imposing too much importance on women, rather they should be concerned to define and elaborate the agenda of women’s rights. Ms. Shagufta Omar stated that there is a need to bridge the gap between the religious strata and female activist movements and finding a new discourse. Ms. Aayesha Rafique and Dr. Samina Bashir both spoke of the female rights in the light of Islamic jurisprudence. Zahra Nauman stated “women need equity not equality”. The US Embassy Spokesperson, Ms. Meghan Gregonis acknowledged the discussion points, and believed there is a need to develop a platform where women across the cultures can sit together and bring their issues to the limelight. Ms. Parveen Qadir Agha summed up the discussion by saying, “Don’t lose your identity and feminity rather be proud of it. I am proud of being born a woman in Pakistan”.Dr. Munazza Yaqoob thanked the participants and concluded the session by stating that some mechanism/policy making should be done to maintain a balance of work for the women who are working women and also manage domestic responsibilities.
I believe there is a need of Training programs on Gender Equality in the workplace. Our working women should know about the Laws and international conventions related to Gender, to explain to them about their Legal Rights and to help them ensure their fulfillment, including Legal advice in case of them presenting demands against violations of the worker’s rights and for the supervision of the ILO Conventions. We need to promote the Ratification and Application of the ILO Convention 156, 100 and others on the Elimination of All Forms of Discrimination against Women and related to Gender Equality, and to support the adoption of the International Conventions for the protection of household workers and to promote its ratification. To promote domestic legislation against gender discrimination and to develop actions geared towards confronting inequalities.

Women should be including in Movements unions on the Gender Issue in the collective bargaining process and the policies of Trade Union management.
